Serious shiznit

Yeah, so I recieved my second call yesterday from the shaliach's office in Miami. For my goyish friends, the shaliach is the Israeli Aliyah (or immigration) representative. I filled out a form on their website awhile ago for a program that allows you to do a professional internship in Israel. They provide you with a stipend, etc. A girl from the office called me back in March and I kind of put her aside, mostly because I was at the Office of Financial Aid which was more important at the time (if I didn't get aid, then I couldn't finish cool, and then I really wouldn't be able to get to Israel at all). Anyways, another girl from the Shaliach called yesterday and I took it very seriously. I was in a really good mood after getting a 93% on my final astronomy exam (therefore leaving me with an A in a science course, blowing my mind completely). So I actually carried on a completely conversation with the girl and I'm currently making an appointment to speak with the shaliach about starting a file. They have to verify stuff, such as whether or not I'm a Jew, etc. But I think that if I get that first step stuff over with, the easier it will be later on.

I am a little nervous. Although they say that I don't have to follow through, I remember the "warm" reception I recieved from my parents back in June when I told them about that grant program for students in Israel. They can't technically stop me, I am over 18, but I feel kinda bad sneaking around like this. Any suggestions?
