Border police stationed along the Israel-Egypt border disrupted a smuggling attempt overnight Wednesday and confiscated 300 kilograms of drugs.

Police spotted two camels and several suspicious people crossing the border near Wadi Lotz overnight Wednesday, Israel Radio reported. They pursued the suspects and discovered 300 kilograms of marijuana as well as painkillers and antibiotics.

However, the smugglers got away.
