Things that make you go "ewww...."

Upon my journey down Emek Refaum today I discovered an ice cream shop. In the States, I would always harp on the quality of dairy in Israel. It’s AMAZING. How can dairy qualify as amazing? In the States, the only time I use milk is to wet my cereal (and it’s skim, yum), cheese is either Velveeta or Kraft (both of which are pinnacle of high quality), and the occasional chocolate bar (probably strewn with animal organs or something). In Israel, milk comes in numerous percentiles: 1, 3, 5, and 100% (I stand to be corrected). The yogurts and cheeses are fresh; chocolate is often dark and either imported from Europe or made by Elite, Israel’s candy company. And the ice cream, divine.

So anyways, I come across an ice cream shop about 5 blocks from my apartment. I walk in and just go gaga over the choices: chocolate nougat, fresh vanilla, lemon, strawberry, dark chocolate (did I mention I like chocolate?). I choose a scoop of chocolate nougat which the guy carefully scoops into a cup and weighs on a digital scale (it’ll multiply the weight on my scale by 2). After handing him 8 shekels, I walk outside and sit at a table. Casually glancing around, I look up at a banner hanging over the store.

“Grand Opening: CREAM ‘N DREAM.”

Chocolate nougat squirts out my nose. Honestly though, it was the best I'd ever had.
