Got my paper back....
And I got an A!!!!! Yeah, I was kinda worried about that. I don't know why. I had a pretty strong hold on this book, "Israeli and Palestinian Postcards: Presentations of National Self." Just as usual, I was unsure about my abilities; the Zoloft can't solve everything.
So I'm currently watching AC 360, and Anderson is back from his speaking engagement at Kansas University (I believe that's the name). I listened to a few of his clips aboutwar time reporting, and how while working in Somalia years back, he had to carry an M-16 for protection. Once again, this is why I did not take the broadcast journalism track. Although I could definitely go for the adventure, I'm not sure that I could take the risk. The fact that women are more likely to be kidnapped and rape in this sort of situation, makes the behind the scenes stuff even more attractive. I definitely would love to take a video camera with me around the world doing my own stories like he did. I'm too much of a nervous nellie.
What was an interesting story is the whole Syrians retreating from Lebanon. Anderson went into Syria and spoke to civilians on the street asking how they felt about their supposed "democratic" government. Nothing but positive remarks on the screen. Anderson had a "government minder" with him who basically stood their giving dark looks to the civilians on cameras. It's amazing how dictatorships work. Definitely don't think I could live in one of those.
Alright, back to Anderson and then to Starbucks. Layla Tov.
