The "What were they thinking?" Event of the Day

I'm sitting on the 4-Aleph bus on my way to Ben-Yehuda Street from Mt.Scopus. The bus drives through a predominately Orthodox neighborhood. Because the traffic is so heavy this time of day, the bus driver is kind of parked in the middle of the street waiting for the traffic to clear. I look over to my left out the window, and there standing at the corner is an Ultra-Orthodox man, hat, payis, tallit, the works, digging for nose-gold. I don't mean a casual scratch, but this dude was about to reach China. He sees me looking at him and then quickly crosses the street.

Ah yes, the finer things in life.

Ulpan Day 2 complete. Can now identify the infinitive for about 25 Hebrew verbs (unfortunately, "picking" was not one of the them).
